A company of Madrid Region has developed a smart system for the automatic detection of parking spaces reserved for handicapped drivers. It sends a real-time alarm to a control centre if such a space is occupied without the proper authorization. The company seeks commercial agreements with technical assistance.
Description:
The system applies technology to find a solution to a long-term problem for low mobility people: the difficulty they have finding somewhere to park because the spaces reserved for them have been occupied by able-bodied drivers.
The project applies technology to the search for a solution to the long-standing problem of parking bays reserved for the handicapped being used by vehicles without permission.
The application of the system is particularly important when it comes to parking spaces for disabledHandicapped people, since the problem is a long-standing one for which no successful answer could be found.
The project has been approved by all the various handicapped-people's associations and federations, and also won an award from the Madrid Regional Federation of Organisations for People with Physical and Organic Disabilities for the most innovative R&D project.
