Thermographic system for counting and sorting road traffic (TO 01)

Empiric is a private Spanish company that develops own technology based on infrared thermography through high-speed hardware FPGA, It allows to developing intelligent systems that process information in real time on the same spot where they are obtained.

Description:

The product is based on a thermal imaging camera that is doing real-time image processing to get the traffic information from at least 3 lanes, computers aren't needed and the bandwidth of the communications system is optimized. The system is immune to the weather conditions and lighting.

Traditional systems are based on gauging turns, is demonstrated low efficiency and installation is invasive. Empiric product proposes a very precise measure that allows its installation without works or traffic court. The vision-based systems often have problems with adverse Weather conditions and changes of light.
Empiric technology based on infrared thermography is immune to all these problems.

Current stage of development of the technology:

Developed, available for demonstration.

Financial source of the technology:

Private funding

Competitive advantages:
The system developed by Empiric allows savings in installation costs and maintenance for the systems traditionally used. If the system is installed at the entrances to the tunnels on roads, can also detect potential risks of any vehicle that can cause a fire inside the tunnel.

Current state of intellectual property:
Secret know how

Type of collaboration sought:

-Joint venture agreement
-Commercial agreement with technical assistance
-License agreement

Specific area of activity of the partner:
Infrastructure, roads, traffic information systems, public works

Tasks to be performed:
Traffic studies, marketing and installation of traffic
